What is Arabic School?

Arabic School is an online learning platform designed for learners who want to study Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) in a structured and flexible way. Our courses focus on the formal Arabic used in education, books, media, and communication across the Arabic-speaking world. They combine educational modules, authentic human-voice recordings, practical activities, homework, and interactive exercises. In the future, we also plan to introduce Arabic curricula specifically designed for children, as well as spoken Arabic courses focusing on the Syrian and Lebanese dialects.

Who can study at Arabic School?

Our current courses are primarily designed for adult learners of all ages and backgrounds from around the world who want to learn Arabic as a new language or improve their existing skills. In the future, we plan to introduce separate Arabic courses designed specifically for children.

Do I need previous knowledge of Arabic?

No. Arabic Course 1 starts from the basics and is designed for learners with little or no previous knowledge of Arabic. Learners who already have some knowledge of Arabic may choose a more advanced level depending on their skills.

What language is used for explanations in the courses?

Arabic School is based on self-paced learning. English is used as the main language for instructions and explanations, so learners should have a basic understanding of English to follow the courses effectively. Swedish translations are also provided to support Swedish-speaking learners.Most course texts are also translated into Swedish to support Swedish-speaking learners.

Can I study from any country?

Yes. Arabic School is fully online, so you can study from anywhere, at any time that suits you, as long as you have a reliable internet connection.

Can I evaluate my Arabic level before choosing a course?

If you already know some Arabic, you can use our level assessment to help determine which course is most suitable for you.

Is there a free trial before enrollment?

Yes. A free trial gives you an opportunity to explore selected lessons, activities, and interactive exercises before enrolling in a full course.

Courses

What Arabic courses do you offer?

Arabic School currently offers two main courses:
Arabic Course 1: Beginner to Intermediate
Designed for learners who are starting to learn Arabic or want to build strong foundational skills.
Arabic Course 2: Intermediate to Advanced
Designed for learners who already have a foundation in Arabic and want to develop more advanced language skills.

How many hours should I study per week?

There is no fixed weekly schedule because you study at your own pace.
Arabic Course 1
We recommend approximately 2 hours of study per week for the 6-month option, or 1 hour per week for the 1-year option.
Arabic Course 2
We recommend approximately 2 hours of study per week for the 1-year course.
You can study more frequently and progress faster if your schedule allows.

What interactive activities are included?

The courses include different types of learning activities:
Interactive exercises
Each educational section includes exercises that help you practise and test your reading, writing, listening, vocabulary, and comprehension skills. Many exercises can be repeated several times.
Homework
Printable assignments allow you to practise writing Arabic by hand and reinforce what you have learned.
Discussion forums
Learners can post questions and participate in discussions related to the course material.
Academic support
Course supervisors provide guidance and answer questions, primarily through the discussion forums.

Are the audio recordings generated by AI?

No. The Arabic audio recordings are recorded by real human speakers to help learners hear natural and accurate Arabic pronunciation.
English audio is generated using AI-based voice technology and is mainly used to support instructions, explanations, and translations throughout the course.

Is there any homework?

Yes. Each course includes homework assignments designed to strengthen your writing skills and improve your understanding of the Arabic language.
The homework is for independent practice and does not need to be submitted to Arabic School. You can complete it at your own pace as part of your learning process.

Can I download the course materials?

Selected educational materials and homework assignments are available as downloadable PDF files.
Interactive exercises, audio recordings, and other online course components are accessed directly through the learning platform and not be downloadable.

Are there additional learning resources?

Yes. Enrolled students may have access to additional educational resources, including electronic learning materials and digital library resources appropriate to their course level. These resources are intended to encourage independent reading and continued learning beyond the main lessons.

Enrollment

How do I start an Arabic course?

Getting started is simple:
1. Create an account
Create a new account on the Arabic School website or sign in directly using your Google (Gmail) account.
2. Pay for your chosen course
Select the course and payment option that suit you, then complete the payment.
3. Wait for course activation
After your payment is received, our administration will manually activate your course access and contact you by email. Activation is normally completed within 2 to 24 hours during business days.
Once your course access has been activated, you can log in to your Arabic School account and start learning.

What devices can I use to access Arabic School?

Arabic School can be accessed using desktop computers, laptops, tablets, and mobile devices. The learning platform is compatible with most modern operating systems and web browsers. For the best learning experience, we recommend using a desktop computer, laptop, or tablet. Although the courses can be accessed on a smartphone, the smaller screen may not be ideal for some lessons, interactive exercises, and writing activities.

Can other people use my account?

No. Your Arabic School account and course enrollment are strictly personal and may only be used by you. Your login details and course access must not be shared with anyone else.

Payment

How much do the courses cost?

Course fees depend on the course and the selected enrollment period. Current prices and available enrollment options are displayed on the relevant course page.

What payment methods are accepted?

You can pay the course fee using either of the following methods:
- PayPal
- Bank transfer
Payment details and instructions are provided during the enrollment process.

Can I get a refund after enrollment?

Once payment has been completed and your course access has been activated, the course fee is generally non-refundable, subject to any rights you may have under applicable consumer law.

Academic Support

What academic support is available?

Arabic School combines self-paced learning with academic support.
Each course has a dedicated discussion forum where learners can ask questions about lessons, exercises, and course content, as well as interact with other learners. When posting a question, learners are encouraged to mention the relevant unit or lesson in the topic title. Course supervisors monitor the forum and provide guidance when additional academic support is needed.
When additional academic assistance is needed, course supervisors can provide guidance and help learners better understand the educational material. This means that although you study independently, you are not learning entirely on your own.

Do you offer live online support?

Yes. Arabic School is primarily based on flexible, self-paced learning, with additional academic support available to learners.
Two live online support meetings are held each year via Google Meet. Each meeting lasts approximately one hour. Learners can meet with an educational supervisor, ask questions about their studies, and receive guidance and support.
Meeting dates are announced to enrolled learners in advance.

Is there an exam at the end of the course?

Yes. The online final examination is optional and covers the course material.

Do I get a certificate when I complete the course?

A certificate is not issued automatically upon completion of the course. To obtain a certificate, the learner must have completed Level 2 and successfully passed both the online examination and the online meeting examination with an educational supervisor.

Technical support covers platform and account-related issues, while questions about Arabic lessons and course content should be directed to academic support.

What devices can I use to study?

You can access Arabic School using:

A smartphone
For the best learning experience, we recommend using a desktop computer, laptop, or tablet. Smartphones are not recommended as the primary device for studying because their smaller screens do not provide an optimal learning environment. However, they can be useful for quick reviews and accessing selected course materials.

Which operating systems and browsers are supported?

The learning platform is designed to work with modern operating systems and current web browsers.
For the best experience, we recommend keeping your browser and operating system up to date.

Do I need any special software or equipment?

Most course activities can be accessed directly through your web browser. A PDF reader is required to open downloadable educational materials and homework assignments.
A printer is strongly recommended, as many homework assignments are designed to be printed and completed by hand. Handwriting practice is an important part of learning Arabic and developing writing skills.
